The road is mine

The 789 project is a festival about hitchhiking. It is organized during the International Hitchhiking Week. On 07/08/09, hundreds of hitchhikers that started a few days earlier from all around Europe will reach Odessa on the shore of the Black Sea, to spend the weekend there.

The aim of the festival is to spread awareness about hitchhiking. To reduce prejudice, to promote it as a normal way of transportation. It's ecological, it's fun, it's good for you!

And to meet up with old travel buddies :)

I might be interested in doing this trip, even though Im coming from Thessaloniki right now, just I'm not so much interested in Turkey, cause there's this visa issue that costs 10 euro and Im running out of money right now, so if you skip Turkey I might join you, think of it ;)

Someone feels like joining?
I think I would catch a plane on 31/07 to Tampere and start the next day from there in direction to Tallinn, Riga, Vilnus, Minsk to arrive to Odesa on the 07/08/09 and join the party!!
Then on the 10th, heading south to Istanbul, Izmir, Athenes, and north again to Sarajevo, Beograd, Budapest, Bratislava, Praha, Dresden...
what do you guys think? :o)
